DNA: 6.Enrichment
Enrichment opportunities that sit outside of the classroom environment but which underpin Personal Development and the CORE Curriculum are key to our students developing a “be curious” attitude which then supports learning & understanding during their time at Rise, choices for post-16 destinations, interest in lifelong learning and their understanding of the wider world.
Opportunities will arise from varying the various rungs of the personal Development DNA ladder as well as through the CORE curriculum strands such as:
Inter- school sports events such as 5 a side football, Rugby, Dodgeball, Archery and Corn-hole.
CORE Curriculum activities such as Theatre trips that support classroom learning and assist in bringing studied text even further to life.
Target 20 rewards to celebrate success based on behaviour, attitude to learning and attendance with points available for every lesson.
CEIAG activities including Year 11 work-placements, visiting speakers from business sector alongside colleges visits.
Curriculum based activities such as visiting Guild Hall & The House of Commons, working with local councillors which develops greater understanding of democracy, law which is a key area within SMSC and British Values.
All Rise opportunities are aimed at not only enriching students learning, but also providing life enhancing experiences that will then stay with our students for a lifetime.
