Today pupils at Rise Up KS3 took part in several events we had arranged with Humberside police. Staff have been working together with the local policing team to create a bespoke timetable of sessions. Today pupils visited the state-of-the-art police control room in Melton.
Pupils observed officers working hard, answering emergency 999 calls and non emergency 101 calls. Pupils also viewed CCTV footage from locations across Hull on the latest technology media wall.
This afternoon guest speakers attended Rise Up to talk to pupils regarding antisocial behaviour in and around the city centre. The manager from Princess Quay, the security team from St Stephen’s as well PCSOs, PCs and a member of the anti-social behaviour team, all took time out to come and speak to the pupils.
The whole day was amazing. It was very educational, engaging and the pupils enjoyed the day from start to finish. Behaviour was exemplary and students worked well in all sessions. The pupils were respectful throughout. We are going to continue strengthening this partnership with Humberside police and plan to create more sessions in the future.
