Today the pupils at Rise Up participated in Virtual reality (VR) first air training. This training session provided the pupils with a realistic simulation, and they had the opportunity to practice life-saving skills.
Using the VR headsets the pupils experienced a high stress scenario and were asked to give real time feedback and make life saving decisions.
The session simulated an emergency situation, which was a knife attack and the pupils were able to interact with virtual objects and patients, and demonstrated how to apply a tourniquet. All the pupils learnt what steps would need to be taken to care for someone in case of a stabbing.
This was a brilliant session, and all of the pupils involved engaged and behaved well. Big thank you to Lauren for organising the session.
