On Wednesday 4th December, Rise rugby players had a fixture against another school. They all pulled together and played excellently, winning the game with a final score of 38-4.

During Parliament week some year 11 students went for a tour of the Guild Hall in Hull. They enjoyed time within the Chambers and chatted about their futures. We had lessons in the Committee room, learning about the House of Commons and the House of Lords in preparation for their upcoming Parliament tour.
Pupils in KS3 paid tribute today to the men and families from Hull, who were killed in WW1 and WW2. The students created artwork containing poppies and poems to show their respect to the fallen soldiers. They located graves of service men who have given their lives and placed their work here as a sign

This week in the hair and beauty department student’s have been demonstrating their “Halloween” special effects make up skills.
Students at key stage 4, have taken part in dog therapy this half term. Dog therapy is proven to support young people with stress and anxiety, social skills and general wellbeing.
Pupils at KS3 have been studying Poetry in English this term. This week we decided to use the skills we have learnt to create some of our own Halloween poems. We have also created some spooky Artwork in our Art lesson.

This year’s awareness theme is ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’. In support of Mental Health Awareness week staff and students at Rise Academy have participated in wearing green on Tuesday 14th May 2024.
